The brackets themselves are very nice and robust. The leveling feet that come with them not so much. The feet themselves are fairly thin and the plastic pad on them is very thin. So I opted to change out the actual leveling feet for some more substantial leveling feet that are more robust and have a thick nylon pad on the bottom of them.

Basically all I used was the bracket, but even with the just using the brackets. I still think it was money well spent, as the brackets themselves are of very nice quality and you will hard pressed to find these mounting brackets being sold individually with out the feel.

This capability allows you to level the workbench even on uneven grounds. The loading capacity of these casters is up to pounds. They are also easy to install. Aside from knowing the most recommended leveling casters in the market today for workbenches, it will be best to know the crucial factors to consider when buying leveling casters:.

If you have a delicate flooring surface made of tiles or hardwood, it will help consider casters that come with floor-protective materials. Of course, most casters can glide and roll, for they are designed for such reason. However, without those protective materials, they may damage the flooring surfaces. So, it will help if the casters have this feature. On the other hand, if you use the casters on wet flooring, you will not need such a feature. You will be better off with casters with solid tread.

Another factor you should consider is the noise level created by the drag of the casters on the floor. Remember that casters with forged steels or cast-iron rolls can generate a lot of noise. So, if you are averse to noise, you might as well go for casters wrought in polyurethane. Another feature you must consider is the weight capacity of the casters.

Many woodworking benches are made of heavy materials that you can barely lift. Moreover, more often, you will stuff your workbench with heavy-duty tools. For this reason, you must select casters meant for heavy workloads. At the onset, it will be best to know the load capacity of each caster. In this way, you will never guess whether your casters will collapse under the weight of the workbench and other loads or not. One way to determine the weight capacity of a caster is by simply looking at its diameter.

In general, a inch diameter caster can support up to 3, pounds. Meanwhile, those which are six, eight, and ten inches in diameter can support less. Furthermore, it will be best to consider the ambiance and conditions wherein you will use your casters. If you use them in challenging situations, then go for those designed for heavier loads. Check the labels of the casters you intend to buy.

There you will find the load capacity of each caster. Aside from knowing the load capacity of the caster, you should also check the diameter of the caster. Of course, the load capacity and the diameter of the casters are intricately related, as mentioned above.

Those with larger diameters have higher load capacities. Moreover, the more oversized diameter casters can roll with ease over rough and tough conditions and surfaces. Another crucial factor to consider is its locking mechanism. You want your workbench to be stationary and stable most of the time. So, you will rely heavily on the locking mechanism of the casters for stability. Some casters come with dual lock mechanisms.

Others, however, do not. Casters come in a variety of materials and make. Hence, you must know the materials out of which the casters are made. Most casters come in nylon, polyurethane, rubber, and cast iron make. Some also come with zinc plate finishing or stainless steel.

You can categorize mounting types into stem mount, plate mount, and weld mounting styles. Many prefer the plate mount, also called horizontal plate mounting. The stem mount features a vertical mounting that is prone to breaking off quickly. Nevertheless, it features a foot pedal that can provide more convenience for its users. When selecting something like a caster for your workbench, it will be best to make an informed and wise choice.

Remember that it is frustrating to choose and install casters on your workbench only to find out after several days or weeks that the casters have caved in or got damaged. Hence, when picking a caster, choose something durable, moisture-resistant, and smooth running. Finding the right caster is a challenge, given the myriads of options at hand.

Yet, if you know the most recommended options at hand and the factors to consider, you can surely zero in on the suitable casters for your workbench.
